Click to ViewAAS 240FS and 2240 Z Systems have been specially designed simultaneous analysis of for micronutrients and heavy metals in processed samples. There are analytical methods for simultaneous analysis of micronutrients as like, (Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn) and heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Ni and Co). Each system has its own features to meet different requirements of micronutrients and heavy metals analyses. Results from both the instruments demonstrated high sensitivity and excellent repeatability for the required analyses.

  Working Principles
Click to ViewThe Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer is true optically double beam with permanently aligned dual atomizer having capability to use both flame and furnace mode of operation simultaneously. The system is provided D2 background correction from flame AAS and Zeeman background correction for furnace system. Working on the principles of solvent extraction, it is possible to carry out speciation studies on aqueous samples. The relative oxidation states of redox pairs can be determined in the sample by selectively extracting one oxidation state by a judicious choice of the chelating agent. The total metal can be determined by ensuring all the metal is either oxidized or reduced to the one extractable form or if present in sufficient quantity determined directly without sample treatment. The maximum absorbance (MAX. ABS) is the maximum peak height Zeeman absorbance which can be used for the wavelength specified for the element, using a time constant of 0.05 seconds. All analytical measurements must be below this maximum peak absorbance. An error message will appear if the peak analytical signal (including blank signal) is greater than the maximum absorbance stored for the particular element. Note that when peak area mode is used, it is the peak height absorbance which is governed by the MAX ABS limit. If a time constant greater than 0.05 seconds or if another analytical wavelength is employed the maximum absorbance applicable to these conditions must be determined before proceeding.

AAS 240FS and 2240 Z Systems have been devolved for analysis of cationic micronutrients and heavy metals in soil, plant and water samples.The users are advised to analysis processed samples immediately after collection and processing of samples collected from the field.
