Instrument/Facility Name: OenoFoss (Wine analyzer)
Make                                   : Foss
Model                                  : OenoFoss
Specification   :FTIR based analyzer.

Click to ViewBuilt on the well proven Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) technology behind the world’s most widely used routine wine analyzer – WineScan™- the Oenofoss analyzer provides a solid platform for wine analysis. The principle of FTIR technology is to scan a must or wine sample in the full mid-infrared spectrum. Light is absorbed in the sample according to the appearance of wine constituents such as sugars and acids. The absorption is converted through the Fourier transform mathematical model to a prediction of the concentration of various constituents. FTIR provides multiple results for many parameters very quickly.

  Working Principles
Click to ViewThis equipment works on FTIR. OenoFoss is handy and simple to use analytical solution measuring all essential parameters such as glucose/fructose, ethanol, pH, total acid, malic acid and volatile acid in wines. Colour intensity of wines also measured.

  User Instructions
Analysis of finished wines. 1. Clear samples of finished wines. 2. Clarify sample using a centrifuge or filtration. Particle size < 10 µm. In case of excess CO2 , degassing is necessary (e.g. use vacuum pump or ultrasonic treatment) 3. Centrifuge the samples @ 5000 ppm for 5 minutes. 4. Ambient temperature 10°C - 35°C. 5. Clean the cuvette and vessel properly. 6. Clean with a regular tissue and commonly used detergent cleaning liquids.
